Purpose:

IHS Towers is seeking a Projects Coordinator Intern to support the successful planning and execution of projects within the Technical/Operations department.

The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, project teams and stakeholders to help ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope and according to required quality standards, with a extension possibility of a additional 12 months.

This opportunity will provide exposure to project planning, scheduling, communication, documentation, resource management, risk management, quality assurance and budget monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development of project plans, timelines and milestones.
  • Coordinate project activities and tasks to support timely completion.
  • Facilitate effective communication between project teams, stakeholders and management.
  • Schedule and organise regular project meetings.
  • Maintain project documentation, including project charters, schedules and status reports.
  • Track project progress and key project metrics.
  • Collaborate with project team members to address resource constraints.
  • Support project managers in developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Assist with quality assurance processes to ensure project deliverables meet required standards.
  • Provide general administrative and coordination support to the Project Management team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or a relevant Built Environment Degree/Diploma.
  • Project Management training or relevant project coordination experience will be advantageous.
  • 2–3 years’ proven experience as a Project Coordinator or in a similar role.
  • Experience working on projects within a telecommunications environment will be advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Advanced or fluent English communication skills.
  • Strong planning, coordination and reporting abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with project teams and stakeholders.

 

Experience:

  • 2–3 years’ proven experience as a Project Coordinator or in a similar role.
  • Experience in project management or coordination.
  • Telecommunications project experience will be advantageous.
