Overview

We are excited to offer a 12-month Learnership opportunity for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our Technical Support programme for Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs).

This programme provides hands-on experience and equips you with valuable skills in Technical Support, preparing you for a successful career in the industry.

Learning Outcome:

  1. Communicate effectively with fellow IT staff & users of information systems
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of different types of computer systems and the use of computer technology in business
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of problem-solving techniques, and how to apply them in a technical environment
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of Computer Technology Principles
  5. Select and use materials and equipment safely for technological purposes
  6. Work effectively as a team member within a support team
  7. Carry out, under supervision, a small size task to demonstrate knowledge of techniques & skills needed in one or more of the following areas of majoring/specialisation:
    • Hardware and Infrastructure Support for Personal Computers
    • Hardware and Infrastructure Support for Office Products
    • Data Communications and Network Support

Responsibilities

  • Handling customer technical support cases through phone and email submission
  • Evaluating system potential through assessing compatibility of new programmes with existing programmes
  • Improving existing programmes by evaluating objectives and specifications
  • Maintaining system functionality by testing computer components
  • Maintain client confidence by keeping their information confidential
  • Preparing reference material for users by drafting operation instruction

Requirements

  • Educational Qualification: Grade 12/Matric Certificate (Achieved at least 50% in English)
  • Residency: Must be a South African citizen residing in Gauteng
  • Age: Between 18 – 27years
  • Opportunity is for People living with Disabilities
