Course Introduction

The purpose of the practitioner level to assess whether the candidate can demonstrate sufficient ability to apply and tailor the PRINCE2 project management method to be awarded the PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification.

A successful Practitioner candidate should, with suitable direction, be able to start applying the method to a real project but may not be sufficiently skilled to do this appropriately for all situations.

Their individual project management expertise, complexity of the project and the support provided for the use of PRINCE2 in their work environment will all be factors that impact what the Practitioner can achieve.

Course Intended Audience

This course is intended for:
Project Managers and aspiring Project Managers.

It is also relevant to other key staff involved in the design, development and delivery of projects, including:

  • Project Board Members (e.g. Senior Responsible Owners)
  • Team Managers (e.g. Product Delivery Managers)
  • Project Assurance (e.g. Business Change Analysts)
  • Project Support (e.g. Project and Programme Office personnel)
  • Operational line managers/staff

Course Prerequisites

In order to sit the PRINCE2 Practitioner examination you must provide proof of having passed:

  • PRINCE2 Foundation (or higher) – this only applies to certificates obtained after 1 January 2009
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  • International Project Management Associate (IPMA) Level A (Certified Projects Director)
  • International Project Management Associate (IPMA) Level B (Certified Senior Project Manager)
  • International Project Management Associate (IPMA) Level C (Certified Project Manager)
  • International Project Management Associate (IPMA) Level D (Certified Project Management Associate)

  • Apply the principles, themes and processes to a project.
  • Describe how to create and assess management products.

Course Associated Exam and Certification

This course prepares students to take the EP-P2P: PRINCE2 Practitioner exam.

Exam Format is 2½ hours, multiple choice questions, 68 questions, 38 marks or more required to pass (out of 68 available), with a 55% pass mark.

The delivery method of the exam is Proctor-Led & Computer-Based.
